It is with grateful hearts that we announce that the St. Joseph Shelter for Men and Women in Lorain has merged with the 8th Street Family Center in Lorain and is now called ……St. Elizabeth Center. This new center is in Lorain on Caroline Avenue and brings all Catholic Charities services for the city of Lorain under one roof.
Holy Trinity Parish has volunteered to provide meals to the shelter on the first Sunday of every month November – April. Each month we will list the menu for the upcoming Sunday in the bulletin and all we ask is that you prepare a portion of the meal and drop it off in Holy Trinity’s parking lot at the specified times. Members of our St. Vincent De Paul Commission will deliver your donations to the Shelter immediately following the drop off time. The guests at the shelter certainly do appreciate your time and your generosity.
If you have questions regarding this Ministry, please contact Karen at the Parish Office, 937-5363.
Our next meal will be served on Sunday, Sunday, November 3, 2019…..
We ask that you supply a portion of the meal which will be:
- Scalloped Potatoes
- Green Beans
You are welcome to prepare any part of the meal or the entire meal. Please drop off your items in the North Parking Lot between 3:00 and 3:30 pm on the first Sunday of the month. Please package your items for spill proof transportation. All items need to be cooked, but not hot.

All adult readers are welcomed to discuss the novel -
The Beach House
by Jane Green
This is a nice summer read about a 65 year old widow whose money is running out so she takes out an ad to rent rooms for the summer in her beautiful old Nantucket home.
All are welcome to join us.
Two opportunities exist for men of the parish and others they choose to invite to join a men’s prayer group. Both groups meet on Saturday mornings and both meet twice monthly.
The 7:30 AM group meets in the school library and is facilitated by Peter Hoffman.
The 8:00 AM group meets in the school faulty lounge or, given good weather, outside behind the parish office. The latter group will use the text, “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis and is facilitated by Terry Wichmann.
For beginning dates and more information, contact either facilitator via the Parish Office at 440-937-5363
We will continue our collection of non- perishable food for the pantry at St. Mary’s in Lorain on the FIRST SUNDAY of each month.
All items can be placed in or near the basket in the back of church by the choir loft stairs.
Just One Item
We are looking for everyone’s help. Simply bring one item like canned soups, vegetables, stews, meats, fruits, juices or boxed items such as prepared meals, instant potatoes, rice, pastas, cereals, etc. Place your item by the choir loft stairs. The shelves at St. Mary’s pantry are in great need of restocking. We are blessed to have a parish filled with servant hearts.
